Since 2019, Director of the ISEAK foundation, of which she herself is a co-founder. She is also professor of Economics at the University of the Basque country and a research fellow at leading international centres such as IZA, in Bonn. She sits on the board of directors of Iberdrola, chairing - as an independent - its sustainable development commission. She is also a member of the advisory council of the ministry of economics, as well as of the AMETIC think tank. Her research specialises in the empirical analysis of the labour market, in particular gender differences, immigration, unemployment and the future of employment. In 2018 she won the Basque college of economists' Basque Economist 2018 - Ekonomistak Saria 2018 prize for her studies on issues of special social relevance. In 2023 she won the 1st Emilio Ontiveros economics prize for her career, and in particular for setting up a research centre with a major social impact, the ISEAK foundation. In the same year she won the prize for excellence in communication awarded by Cadena Ser Bilbao.
