Below, there are some links of interest to health technology assessment. It is practically impossible to gather all possible links, so we have included those that we find useful in our daily practice.

This document will be amended periodically to maintain the currency of links and the accuracy of the information released. Any contribution of interest that results in the subsequent improvement and the potential usefulness of the user will be well received.

The Spanish Network of Agencies for Health Technology and Benefits Assessment of the National Health System is comprised of agencies or evaluation units of the general administration of the state and the autonomous communities, working in coordination with a common methodology and under the principle of mutual recognition and cooperation.

  • MedScape (www.medscape.com) This website offers a weekly e-mail with news or can be scanned directly to seek new technologies or breaking news in the healthcare sector.

  • EurekAlert (www.eurekalert.org) is the website of the American Association for the advancement of science and covers news from all areas of it. Includes long-form summaries with links or contact information for profesionales.
  • Food and Drug Administration (www.fda.gov) contains an excellent search engine highly useful in the discovery of new drugs and devices at the point of licensing or just newly obtained to be marketed in the USA. The news section ("news") can be used to find out what is the latest addition to the web.
  • HMS Beagle (www.biomednet.com) This website offers a free weekly e-mail subscription that includes the latest news on the efficacy of health technologies.
  • Safety and Efficacy Register of New Interventional Procedures (SERNIP) (www.nice.org.uk) contains a list of surgical procedures analyzed by NICE in the United Kingdom.
  • Medical Breakthroughs (www.ivanhoe.com) Another website that offers a free weekly e-mail subscription that includes the latest medical information primarily devoted to patients.
  • Doctor's Guide (www.Pslgroup.Com) Provides a database engine that search on medical news. It could be got a free weekly news newsletter by filling out a subscription form.
